Memorial services for Ethel “Nita” Batcheldor, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Nazarene in Gillette with the Rev. Judith England officiating.

Burial will be in the Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynwood, Wash.

Mrs. Batcheldor, 83, of Gillette died Wednesday, Aug.29, 2012, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

Ethel Juanita Batcheldor was born Nov. 11, 1928, in Everett, Wash., the daughter of Roy and Gladys (Lee) Cummings. She was raised and educated in Washington attending Snohomish High School.

After her schooling, she married Donald L. Batcheldor on Aug. 2, 1947 in Monroe, Wash. As a result of her husband’s military career, the couple and their daughters lived at bases throughout the world before returning to Washington to retire. In 1994, Ethel moved to Gillette to be near her daughter and sister. Ethel was an avid reader, and studied the Bible intensely. She was a member in good standing at the Church of the Nazarene.

Ethel is survived by her daughters Donna Lee Low of Gillette and Joyce Diana (Arturo) Ayala of Eagle River, Alaska; sister Freida Lincoln of Newcastle; two brothers, James Cummings and Keith Cummings, both of Ellensburg, Wash.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, sister Wanda C. Batchelor and brother Wayne Cummings.
