No people or animals were hurt in a fire that started in a duplex at 1203 Emerson Avenue on Saturday around 1 p.m. The duplex was shared by Sarah Braswell and John Hodges and their neighbors John and Vicki Tuning. Braswell was not at home when the fire started but her Weimaraner, Ruby, was in the house and was safely rescued.
