Funeral services for Norma Dubel will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Gillette Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bob Rudichar of Cornerstone Church of God Church.

Burial will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Gillette Memorial Chapel.

Norma Jean Dubel, 73, of Gillette, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home of natural causes.

Norma Dubel was born on July 25, 1939, in Tripp County, S.D., the daughter of Milford and Reka (Schuppan) Farris.

She graduated salutatorian from Colome High School in 1957.

On Sept. 21, 1957, Norma married James P. Dubel in Colome, S.D.

She enjoyed being a cake decorator. Norma ran a daycare out of her home and took care of the elderly in their homes. She enjoyed making paper flowers and bouquets, playing bingo and attending church services. Norma also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her sister, Maxine Harter of Sturgis, S.D.; children, Chalene “Sheri” Smith of Gillette, Rebecca “Becky” (Brian) Kjensmo of Park City, Mont., James R. (Nancy) Dubel of Gillette and Larry Dubel of Gillette; four grandchildren, Zachary Dubel of Douglas, Christopher Dubel of Gillette, Amanda McRae of Gillette and William “Zack” Stevens of Gillette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Richard Dubel.
