SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Sioux Falls police say thieves have been targeting urinals in men’s restrooms, and they hope surveillance videos will help catch the culprits in the act.
Valves and pipes from urinals have gone missing from fast food restaurants throughout South Dakota’s largest city. Police are investigating 12 cases so far, including ones at Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Dairy Queen and Burger King.
Police officials tell KELO-TV that the thieves likely aim to sell the stolen parts.
Public Information Officer Sam Clemens says reports of urinal thievery are still trickling in. He says detectives will peruse surveillance video in hopes of solving the crimes.
