Memorial services for Rex Overholt will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tom Frey officiating.
Mr. Overholt, 54, of Gillette died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Rapid City Regional Hospital due to kidney failure.
He was born June 14, 1958, in Vancouver, Wash., the son of John H. and Marjorie A. (DeSeive) Overholt.
When he was 2 years old his family moved to South Dakota. He attended elementary school in Rapid City, S.D., and Belle Fourche, S.D. He started eighth grade in Sturgis, S.D., and graduated from Brown High School in 1976.
He moved to Gillette in May 1979.
On July 16, 1983, he married Karen Gronlund in Rapid City. They later divorced, but remained close.
He was an excellent salesman. He worked for Gases Plus, Auto Electric and Crown Parts and Machine, before owning the Snap-On Tool franchise for 22 years. He was most recently employed by Big Horn Hydraulics.
His greatest joys were his two children, Aislinn and Cade.
He enjoyed going to Bronco football games, boating, fishing, golfing, hunting, snow skiing, traveling and NASCAR racing.
Mr. Overholt is survived by his children, Aislinn and Cade, both of Gillette; father, John Overholt of Sturgis; brother, Greg Overholt of Black Hawk, S.D., and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
