Memorial services for Ronald J. Reints of Gillette were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Walker Funeral Home.
Burial at Black Hills National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Mr. Reints, 63, died from natural causes Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1949, in Vienna, S.D., to Ernest and Bernice (McLain) Reints. He was raised in Willow Lake, S.D., and graduated from Willow Lake High School. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany where he met Inge Dingert. They were married in Baumholder, Germany, on Jan. 10, 1970. Together the couple had one daughter.
After receiving his honorable discharge from the Army, he moved to Kenosha, Wis., where he went to work for Goodyear. He was later transferred to Lincoln , Neb., before finally settling in Gillette, in 1979. In Gillette, he worked as a construction foreman until retiring.
He enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, trap and skeet shooting, and riding four wheelers. He also enjoyed playing the card game Aces Corner with his daughter. He spent many happy afternoons having lunch and visiting at the Campbell County Senior Citizen Center.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Vavra of Gretna, Neb.; five grandchildren; brothers, Bill Reints of Ringling, Mont., Mel Reints of Billings, Mont., and Dick Reints of Willow Lake, Mont.; and sister, Mary Sutter of Sioux Falls, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister, Marlys Olson.
