School trustees to hear about kindergarten enrollments

Posted 2/12/13

Campbell County school trustees will look at preliminary kindergarten enrollment numbers during their public meeting Tuesday.

During the meeting, starting at 7 p.m., Boyd Brown, the school district's associate superintendent for instruction, will update trustees about the current kindergarten numbers. Those figures often provide an early preview of possible enrollment growth next school year and whether the district will have enough room in Gillette and Wright schools to handle the demand.

The trustees also will vote in their consent agenda to extend Superintendent Richard Strahorn's contract through June 30, 2016.

And they'll be expected to vote to accept new primary textbooks for secondary math and family and consumer classes.
