Small theaters scrape to convert to digital movies

Some small Wyoming movie theaters are struggling to raise the money to convert to digital movies as the industry abandons film.
The Ritz in Thermopolis, the Princess in Douglas and the Washakie Twin in Worland are trying various fundraisers to raise the estimated $70,000-per-screen cost.
Bill Campbell, owner of Centennial in Sheridan, says studios haven’t set a hard deadline to convert, but most theaters have already switched so fewer film copies are being produced.
The Ritz in Thermopolis is selling naming rights to seats for a contribution of $50 or more.
