JACKSON — Teton County government workers will likely get their first raise in five years in 2013.
County commissioners set aside $300,000 in the budget to pay for raises but they wanted to review sales tax collections before moving ahead with them. Sales tax revenue is up by about 10 percent and commissioners decided to move ahead with salary increases during an Oct. 2 retreat.
Commission chairman Ben Ellis said that the county has 30 fewer employees than in 2007 and the remaining employees have been working hard and maintaining good quality standards.
