ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is closing its Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility for cleaning until roughly the first week in April.
Crews intend to use frontend loaders and other equipment to clean pens and holding corrals. The facility will be closed for public tours and mustang adoptions during the closure.
The public viewing kiosk will remain open.
The facility currently holds about 700 horses from around the state. Weaned foals, geldings and mares up to 5 years of age are available for adoption for a $125 fee.
