Where was the coverage of veterans?

Posted 11/14/12

Apparently my veteran bias is bubbling to the surface.

Nothing says thank you for your service quite like opening the paper on November the 11th and see the front page filled with an article on a dog bite victim and space also delegated to the spate of phone and email scams happening in the area.

There may be a loose thread of the social fabric visible here that may help explain why we are headed in the wrong direction, supposedly.

All in all being a Vietnam-era veteran myself, I have been pretty much dissed for a long time, and I’m sure I will get over it.

Thank you for your service Duffy. You have made my life better for it. You have a very special space in my heart and I don't know how to express it with words. We owe you everything we now have in our life because you were on call to go to battle for US when it was needed. You are not alone. I am married to a man who is also a Vietnam-era Vet. I was married to him then and have remained by his ever since. You know where to reach me. Thank you again for your service and to every Vet who feels dissed.

This year in Cisco Texas the Vetrans Dinner was specifically for 2nd WW and Korean Vets. We Viet Nam era Vets are chopped liver already.
