Wyoming GOP not fined $10K by IRS

CASPER — The Wyoming Republican Party will not be fined $10,300 by the Internal Revenue Service.
The IRS had proposed the penalty because party payroll forms were not properly filed in 2008.
State GOP Chairman Tammy Hooper says the party is pleased the issue has been resolved.
Hooper said in a news release that inaccurate press reports last year about the party paying the fine did not hurt its fundraising efforts.
The news release noted that the party had paid all its taxes on time.
