Election night lasted a little longer than Campbell County’s elections clerks would have liked thanks to a piece of equipment not accepting some of the absentee ballots.

The machine that was reading the ballots “was telling us the (absentee) ballot was too short,” County Clerk Susan Saunders said Tuesday, even though it was the same size as all of the other ballots.

Funny that they didn't think to bother with that distinction in the story published the day following the election. Something doesn't look right about this.
