Bill Pownall

The Republican Party in Wyoming and Campbell County is strong. Republicans hold a clear majority and control the House of Representatives, the Senate and the five top elected positions in the state.

Differences of opinion exist within a party on issues and policy direction, but we have to remain united in our core values and our commitment to conservative leadership.

Variety of opinion is a sign of strength and helps us consider all viewpoints as we deal with complex issues, but I’ve been very unhappy with some of the rhetoric against incumbents from within the party. Some of the more radical factions, often strongly influenced from outside Wyoming, have spread misinformation about candidates with personal attacks, and this shouldn’t be condoned.

I’m proud of our party and I’m proud of the direction our party is leading Wyoming and Campbell County.
