Lacinda McKenny and Christina Railsback bring in a fresh heard of cattle for the Thar's Ranch Sorting contest Sunday at Cam-plex East Pavilion. About 40 people competed in Saturday's event, where two riders enter a pen with numbered cattle and try to see how many cattle they can sort out within 60 seconds.

"It's (sorting) so much fun, and all these people are our friends," Hochhalter, who has been ranch sorting with her husband Shawn for the last five years, said. "Anybody at any level with any horse can do this sport."
