A supermarket cart filled with a dozen watermelon stood in the Cam-plex Plaza as Tiffany Sylvester cut thick slices for the Fur Kids Foundation’s first ever watermelon eating contest.
About 50 people gathered Saturday afternoon, shouting encouragements and taking pictures as people of all ages attempted to eat as much watermelon as they could in 60 seconds, while their hands were clasped behind their backs.
