Artist Gabe Leonard’s paintings hang during a show Friday at Wyoming Art and Frame in downtown Gillette.

Barbara Mueller didn’t see any of her own influence in her once student’s work.

The oil paintings on the gallery walls portrayed dynamic scenes of guns drawn horizontally across the frame, a train barrelling through a warmly hued hellscape and the umbrella-shaded faces of women standing tall in vertical portraits.
