At a time when job security is tenuous because of lagging Campbell County energy industries and the COVID-19 pandemic, local residents like Cassidy McKim say they're grateful for being part of a generous community.

The Gillette family is trying to save money to help get through a difficult time, and one way of doing that was by McKim stopping at the Rockpile Community Center parking lot last week to pick up a couple of boxes of food for her family.

Editor's note: Cassidy McKim's husband did not recently lose his job, as a previous version of this story incorrectly reported. The story has been corrected and the News Record apologizes for the error.
