Bike trail update

David Bauer and his son Korbin Bauer, 10, ride along one of the few pathways that is in the Centennial Section. Bauer has proposed more public trails be built in the 640-acre tract north of Gillette.

If all goes according to plan, a proposed public trails system north of Gillette will be ready for use this month.

David Bauer, who brought the idea to the Campbell County Commission in April, said the end goal is to turn the Centennial Section, a 640-acre parcel of undeveloped land owned by the county, into a public trails system that is part of the county’s parks system.
