The coronavirus pandemic has local high school musicians marching to a different drummer.

That was evident during the morning hours of weeklong of band camps for Campbell County and Thunder Basin high schools as band members practiced the fundamentals without their instruments. Whether shaking off rust for the seniors or introducing freshmen to high school marching band the first time, the young musicians began the new band year marking time to a far-from-familiar cadence.
