The road to a new recycling program in Campbell County has been a long and arduous one.

The city, the county, public works departments, concerned citizens and others have voiced their opinions, and months of meetings, discussions, proposals and revisions have passed leading up to the magical date of Sept. 6, when the Campbell County Amalgamated Recycling Program, or CARE, will begin.
