A special election for the formation of a community college district in Campbell County has been scheduled for Aug. 17, and two political action committees have been formed ahead of the vote: one in support of the new college district and one against.

There’s the Our Community Our College PAC, chaired by Josh McGrath, which supports the new district.

Dalby, your a joke! You have proven with you past actions toward the county commissioners you lack the ability to acquire real facts. Please don’t try to destroy our future in Gillette!

I'm not sure that Mr. Dalby has a full grasp of how all of this works. What is his background that qualifies him to make such decisions. I am concerned that he might be speaking out, when he doesn't quite understand what he is talking about. I don't mean to offend, but he is young, inexperienced, and lacks the knowledge needed.

It looks to me like this issue comes down to does Gillette want a community college in the county or not. As for the tax burden on the coal, oil and gas industries they should look at it as part of their responsibility to support the community the are in. The future of Gillette lies in a well trained workforce that is ready for the jobs of the future not just the jobs of the past. It's time we move beyond the energy industries dictating how we prepare for the future. How many of them still owe the county unpaid taxes?
