Gillette Community College District trustees checked a few more boxes on the to-do list for starting an independent district from the ground up. But that list continues to grow.

At a meeting Thursday, trustees approved district policies as well as a letter of engagement with an accounting and bookkeeping firm, the contract for interim district president Janell Oberlander and also approved a contract to consult with Walter Nolte, a consultant who is the former president of Casper College.
