A man awaiting sentencing on interference now faces an aggravated assault and battery charge after he allegedly caused bleeding on the brain of a fellow jail inmate when he punched him.

In addition, prosecutors have added a sentencing enhancement to the charge against Trevor William Brinkerhoff, 33, of being a habitual criminal. That enhancement would increase the maximum sentence for Brinkerhoff from up to 10 years for the aggravated assault to life in prison.
