On Saturday afternoon, Gillette Avenue in front of Big Lost Meadery was filled with a snow cone truck, food trucks, apparel stands and an arts and crafts booth for the Coal Country Grinder Festival. Cyclists and friends and family gathered and played corn hole as they waited for the race entrants to cross the finish line on the corner of First Street and Gillette Avenue.

At about 2:45 p.m., Tim Fegel crossed the finish line first in the 135-mile race, finishing in 7 hours and 41 minutes. Fegel has been doing cycle cross for five years and for extra practice in the off season, he does gravel racing.
