The city of Gillette is partially closing the Gurley Avenue Overpass for a couple of days.

The closure started at 9 a.m. Thursday and will continue until 3 p.m. Friday. The schedule remains the same for Friday.

Meanwhile - any plans for a new overpass? Being down for maintenance for months out of each year is not working out for those of us who live north of the interstate. We keep hearing that they are "looking" - but it's been years, and no actual plan.


I would agree with Nashest... A second overpass would make perfect sense for Gillette. I can't think of a better place than the Sams street that the hospital is located. If an emergency trip going to the hospital gets detoured at the current overpass, then at the next 2 streets that cross train tracks... it has to travel to the last resort, which is the underpass. A second overpass located closest to the hospital makes perfect sense.
