Campbell County Public Library

The mission statement of the Campbell County Public Library has been changed to add four words.

At a meeting Monday afternoon, the library board voted 3-2 to change the mission statement to include the phrase “while reflecting community standards.”

Library board recognizes that families are important and has stopped the slide into degenerate and fraudulent activities. Thank you for taking the lead!

A quote from an article you should read: “Dr. James Luther Adams, my ethics professor at Harvard Divinity School, told his students that when we were his age — he was then close to 80 — we would all be fighting the Christian fascists. The warning was given 40 years ago.” The prophetic article from 2007 can be found at https://www.popmatters.com/christian-fascism-american-democracy-hedges

This was ridiculous and extremely sad and a blatant overreach but hopefully no one will even realize the mission statement has changed - most people didn't know what it was before. Librarians keep doing what you are doing and see if they can stop you!

The library board's legal council found issue with this change, and the three members of the board decided to move ahead anyway. Just think about that for a moment.

This just goes to show that reading the same book (Bible) over and over and over again doesn't make you any smarter. News Record maybe you should have mentioned that our horrible, depraved library won the BEST LIBRARY IN THE STATE award at the recent WLA convention.
