Prosecutors will recommend a Gillette man be sent to prison for 13 to 15 years for an aggravated assault that happened in jail after he had pleaded guilty to two other felonies.

A habitual criminal sentencing enhancement had been added to the charge against Trevor William Brinkerhoff, 33. That enhancement would have increased the penalty for the assault to life in prison rather than 10 years. But as part of a plea agreement, the enhancement increased the penalty to 10 to 50 years in prison rather than life.
