Vote Yes For Gillette College campaign kick-off

Heidi Gross, right, distributes signs encouraging people to vote yes for Gillette College to become its own community college district during a kick-off event for Vote Yes For Gillette College campaign at the college’s Technical Education Center on Tuesday evening.

With about three months before an Aug. 17 special election to decide on control of Gillette College’s future, the campaign in favor of forming a new community college district is gaining traction.

“We’re going to address, once and for all, what it means to have local control,” said former Gillette College Vice President Mark Englert at the Vote Yes for Gillette College Kick-Off Event on Tuesday. It's important "so you can make local decisions that can affect the future of this community.”
