Sawdust and the sound of chainsaws will fill the air in Encampment this weekend as the town hosts its 59th annual Woodchoppers Jamboree and Rodeo.
The event, to run Saturday and Sunday, will feature a number of woodcutting competitions — involving both hand tools and chainsaws — as competitors battle for the title of Rocky Mountain Champion Lumberjack or Lumberjill.
Activities begin with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. Saturday, followed by a parade and contests, which will also include an axe throwing competition. In the afternoon, a Wyoming Rodeo Association-sanctioned rodeo will be held.
On Sunday, activities will continue with more logging competitions and the rodeo.
