Bobbie Gene Cooper, 87, of Gillette, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Funeral services for Bobbie “Bob” Cooper begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Home with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. the day of the service.

Bob was born in Wray, Colorado, on Sept. 5, 1931, the oldest of four children to David and Goldie (Baker) Cooper.

He was a very softhearted person who was willing to help anyone in need.

Growing up, he worked with his dad on construction projects and eventually started a drywall business before going to work at Belle Ayr mine in 1978.

He retired from mining in 1988.

He had many passions in life. He wrote songs and played in a band named Jerry and the Jokers, which included his brother Jack and Maury Neugebauer.

He also loved hunting, fishing, boating, rock hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Bob is survived by son, Mike (Gayle) Cooper and family; daughter, Mary Ann Milachek and family; daughter, Donna (Mike) Hurff and family; daughter, Barbara (Craig) Weber and family; son, George (Lori) Cooper and family; and daughter, Shawna (Ken) Cooper and family.

He was preceded in death by his siblings; sons, Bobbie Gene and infant son, Patrick; and son-in-law, Leon.

Bobbie, you will be forever in the hearts of our family and friends.
