From the June 12, 1924 Campbell County Record:

During the past two weeks the county agent assisted by the State Club Leader from the university of Wyoming, Alta Jane Emerson, has organized two girls sewing clubs and a boy’s pig club. These are the first clubs of this kind to be organized in Campbell county. The object of the sewing clubs is not only to teach the girls to sew but also to teach them business organization and exactness. At Recluse a boy’s club has been started with Eric Rule as leader. In this club the boys are starting out with purebred Hampshire gilts, secured from Frank and Fred Oedekoven. The boys will care for them thru four months this summer, keeping exact feed records and this fall will be able to tell their dads just what it costs to grow a good hog. The gilts will be bred next winter and a sow and litter club carried on thru next summer.
