From the June 25, 1953 News Record:

A new approach was given to its brochure for tourists by the Gillette Rotary Club this year as it played up the many tourist attractions along Highways 14-16 and gave a brief history and business background of Campbell County and Gillette. The club received 30,000 of the pamphlets last week and many will be sent to tourist information bureaus in various parts of the country. About 4,000 are to be sent to the Commerce and Industry commission at Cheyenne for further distribution. The booklet begins on the Wyoming-South Dakota line and works westward for the reading tourist on the “Black and Yellow Trail,” which is the name of the pamphlet this year.
