JACOB L. KINNEAR, 19, has been charged in Circuit Court with aggravated assault and battery for allegedly stabbing another man in the chest with a screwdriver after he saw him with his former girlfriend. The confrontation started about 5:30 p.m. June 27 when he talked to a woman via FaceTime who had broken up with him the night before. He could see the other man in the room and became enraged, according to court documents. He showed up at her home, where they argued and he yelled obscenities before he left and came back wearing a glove and holding a screwdriver. He allegedly ran over to the man, stabbed him and got into his truck and left. He initially told police he had pushed the man while wearing a ring and later said he used a screwdriver, which was found in the bed of his truck. Police said the screwdriver penetrated deeply enough to puncture the man’s lung.
