CAROL EVANGELINE BROTHWELL, 71, has been charged in Circuit Court with aggravated assault and battery and destruction of property, both felonies. She is accused of attacking her son-in-law after learning that he gave a friend a ride on his motorcycle on June 24. She took a pair of scissors and began cutting up his belongings that she found in the garage, and when he arrived home confronted him with the same scissors, stabbing him at least once, although his jacket stopped them from puncturing him, according to court documents. She also reportedly tried to cut the cables on his motorcycle. In all, the damage to his belongings amounted to $1,208.
