FAILURE TO REGISTER

LESTER JAMES CASE, 46, faces new charges in District Court of failure to register as a sex offender after he was pulled over for speeding Aug. 26 in a rental car and he hadn’t registered it with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office as required. He told officers it was the first day he was driving it and he hadn’t had time to register it. But after investigating, officers learned that his vehicle had been at Sunshine Auto Body for repairs since Aug. 14, which also was the first day of the rental agreement, according to court documents. Case had prior convictions for failure to register in 2001, 2006, 2015 and 2020. He was convicted of third-degree sexual assault in 1996.
