Gillette hadn’t scored a run in 14 innings going into Thursday’s tilt with Mitchell, South Dakota, Post 18 on the road.

The Roughriders (39-9) broke that cold scoring streak in the first inning when Caleb Driskill hit a single to put a run on the board, then Brody Richardson hit two runs in for a 3-0 lead to start of the top of the first inning.
